VOLNAY
Our Volnay wines are made exclusively using Pinot Noir grapes and always have strong tannins, which both makes them supple and means that they can be kept for long periods before drinking. They marry well with roasts, white meats, poultry and they also accompany cheese marvellously.
VOLNAY
This appellation is a terroir wine of great distinction, with a soft fleshiness and consistency endowed with legendary suppleness.
VOLNAY 1er CRU
LE VILLAGE
The vine used to make this wine is located in the centre of the village, in a very sheltered location, which creates a micro-climate. It is eight years old, and thus is still young, which means that it produces a fine and silky wine, with delicate tannins, everything that a full-bodied wine is not. This cru is enjoyed by people who like velvety wines.
VOLNAY 1er CRU
CARELLE SOUS LA CHAPELLE
This small parcel, thanks the high level of brown limestone in the soil there, produces very round wines, which sometimes have overtones which are remarkably bouquet-like.
VOLNAY 1er CRU
LES CHAMPANS
This cru is from a really great terroir. There is a lot of silt and many pebbles in the soil here, and they confer upon this wine a great delicacy and a noble texture.
VOLNAY 1er CRU
CLOS DES CHÊNES
This wine comes from a terroir with a south-east aspect and a very steep slope. This gives rise to a very powerful wine, whose liveliness brings out the best from its red fruit flavours. A wine which can be kept for a very long time.
VOLNAY 1er CRU
TAILLEPIEDS
A terroir which is rich in clay, which results in this wine having a very bright colour, a smooth texture and a delicate minerality. This wine must be left to age for a few years.
VOLNAY 1er CRU CLOS DE LA ROUGEOTTE MONOPOLE
This wine comes from a vine which is niched in the village, surrounded by high walls, a marly terroir rich in clay content, which means that this wine always has a bright colour. It is a very delicate and a very subtle wine.
POMMARD
Pommard wines are made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes and are powerful and full-bodied in the mouth. They can be kept for a great number of years. Their initial chewiness softens with age into tannins which create a persistent finish in the mouth. They are perfect with legs of meat, meat accompanied by sauce and game, and of course cheese, naturally.
POMMARD
This is a wine which often has a ruby red colour; it also has a prominent texture and an exquisite viscosity. Wine which keeps well.
POMMARD 1er CRU
CLOS MICOT
This cru is a Pommard which has a rather supple attack in relation to other crus from the village. Its attack is generous and elegant, and often velvety. Black fruit and slightly spicy overtones.
POMMARD 1er CRU
LES POUTURES
A very richly-flavoured wine with delicate ruby tinges. The nose is very complex and combines undergrowth flavours, even mushroom flavours. Sometimes hints of liquorice can be discerned.
POMMARD 1ER CRU
LES RUGIENS
This is a masterly 1er Cru of Pommard. It always has a very bright ruby red colour. Its nose is a happy mix of hints that are sometimes floral and sometimes more fruity. Always pleasant and very full-bodied. Indisputably a great wine which can be kept for many years.
SAVIGNY-LES-BEAUNE
SAVIGNY-LES-BEAUNE 1er CRU
LES NARBANTONS
The main characteristic of this wine is that it is elegant and very delicate. Its tannins are very velvety and its bouquet is the quintessence of the Pinot Noir grape variety - red fruit. It marries extraordinarily well with white meats.
PERNAND-VERGELESSES
PERNAND-VERGELESSES 1er CRU
LES VERGELESSES
This vine, which is more than 30 years old, produces a wine with tannins which are both powerful and silky.
It has a remarkably long finish. Its bouquet is a subtle combination of red fruits and slightly spicy overtones.
Wine which keeps very well.
APPELLATIONS REGIONALES
BOURGOGNE ALIGOTE
LES FÛTS
This is a regional white wine appellation. The vineyard is located overlooking the village of Pommard and the soil there is made up of limestone scree. The fact that the vineyard is not located on flat land - like the land used to grow most Aligoté grapes - means that the wine has a certain minerality, as well as being fruity. It should be drunk young and is perfect for making kir (a cocktail consisting of a measure of crème de cassis (blackcurrant liqueur) topped up with white wine made from Aligoté grapes) and is a treat when it accompanies shellfish, fish and Raclette (a Swiss dish based on heating the cheese and scraping off (racler) the melted part). It must be served chilled. It is a very thirst-quenching wine.
BOURGOGNE CÔTE-D’OR
PINOT NOIR
Lower alcohol content than our crus. It is a wine which should be drunk rather young. It is very fruity, and is also made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes.
It is always very supple and very pleasant.
Can be kept for five or six years.
