Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Les Vergelesses
Mineral, full-bodied, unctuous and seductively powerful.
Nestled between the charming locales of Savigny-lès-Beaune and Aloxe-Corton, just north of Beaune, this wine emanates a bold presence on the palate. With robust tannins and a commanding initial impression, it embodies the essence of a full-bodied pinot noir. A stark departure from the delicacy of Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er cru, it captivates with its depth and intensity. It ages gracefully and keeps well.
The Vineyard
Pernand-Vergelesses
Very picturesque village located north of Beaune and 3 km from Aloxe-Corton, on one side of the Corton hill which is home to Corton Charlemagne grand cru. It is built in the shape of an amphitheatre, dominated by the oratory of Notre Dame de Bonne Espérance, which overlooks the entire vineyard.
Historically, Charles Martel owned vineyards here, which he passed on to his grandson Charlemagne.
